BAKETOWN
Building the structure behind ambitious cultural programming.
As Executive Producer at Baketown, I work across the development and delivery of music, cultural programming and artist-led projects. My role spans programme development, artist and partner relationships, budgets, production planning, technical coordination, teams and the operational decisions required to move an idea from its earliest conversations into a live experience. I work closely with artists, management, creatives, technicians and external partners, often acting as the link between creative ambition and what is practically possible. This means understanding what a project needs creatively, then building the budgets, schedules, teams, partnerships and production structure around it.
What does an institution built from the underground look like? One that stays close to artists, moves with culture and creates space for ideas before they have a name.
From first conversation to live experience.
Each project starts differently: an artist conversation, a collaboration, a programming idea or an opportunity for the space. I translate that starting point into a workable production, developing scope and budgets, aligning stakeholders, building schedules, coordinating technical requirements and teams, and staying close to the creative as the project moves towards delivery. The work often involves balancing several interests at once — artist needs, audience experience, creative ambition, technical realities, partner expectations and financial constraints — while keeping the project coherent from development through to show day.
