SAINT LOBA
Building an art platform from the ground up.
I co-founded Saint Loba from an initial idea into an independent art platform, working across the strategy, positioning and structures behind the venture. My role has spanned artist curation and relationships, partnerships, business modelling, exhibitions, digital development, communications and production. Building the platform has meant moving constantly between the cultural proposition and the practical decisions behind it — from developing our artist and representation model to pricing, e-commerce, production partners and public programming. As the venture has evolved, I’ve also been responsible for questioning the model itself, identifying where it needs to change and shaping what comes next.
How can we create new ways for artists to be discovered and valued, with greater agency over how their work moves through the world?
Turning an idea into a model - then questioning the model
Saint Loba’s first model brought together artist representation, limited fine-art editions, exhibitions and digital commerce. I helped develop the systems behind it: selecting and onboarding artists, structuring representation and revenue models, building the digital storefront, sourcing production partners, developing partnerships and shaping exhibition concepts. Working closely with the model after launch has also created a clearer understanding of where the opportunity lies and where the original proposition needs to evolve. That process now informs Saint Loba’s next phase: reassessing the business, refining its positioning and developing a direction that responds more closely to what we’ve learned from artists, audiences and the market.
